Just been through the annual DBS (formerly CRB) check. A check like this is just one part of good recruitment practice. They assist employers in making safer recruitment decisions, and demonstrate to you that your pool service company takes your safety seriously. When a check has been processed by the DBS the applicant will receive a DBS certificate (DBS check). Asking to see certificates for all the people that will be allowed access to your property. A good pool company will be happy to oblige and glad you asked. Take special note though - The DBS can’t access criminal records held overseas. There is a separate process which varies on a country by country basis. Your pool cleaning company should still be able to demonstrate they have taken the appropriate steps to make sure their employees from overseas have been properly vetted.
